I wouldn’t normally ask…

But I have a few prayer requests.

First off, my friend Kyle is pregnant and in the hospital on bed rest. Probably until the baby comes. She has been through a lot recently, lost her husband in May and found out a few weeks later she was pregnant. He died without knowing about this precious miracle. She is 28 weeks along and will be in the hospital until at least 32 weeks. But we want that baby to stay in longer than that. She also has a 14 month old and her mom is caring for her…it’s hard to be away from her and laying in an empty hospital room with all this on her mind. So prayers are much appreciated!
Secondly, my friend Ashlee’s baby is still in the NICU. She was born a few weeks early and her lungs were not developed enough…and she also had a GBS infection which caused pneumonia in this sweet baby. Her blog is http://acrossthebranch.blogspot.com Please pray for her. Ashlee and Brad go to hold her for the first time over the weekend.
Anyway, if you can spare some good thoughts for these gals I would appreciate it.

Only a few days late

Jason and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on September 26. I can’t believe it’s already been 10 years. On one hand, it feels like just yesterday. But on the other hand, it feels like we’ve been together all our lives.

How did we choose our wedding date, you ask? Well, it’s funny. You know he went to GA and is a rabid fan…I went to AU and am a rabid fan. That year (1998) September 26 was an OFF DAY for both teams. So why not? It hasn’t happened again since then. We knew if there was an AU or GA game, we would lose guests to the game. So we had the perfect solution.
The wedding  was beautiful, the reception was SO much fun and then the honeymoon was amazing. A lot has happened in the ten years since then. Some very normal things, some very life-changing events. There are things we wish we could go back and change but joining together in marriage is not one of them.
I love you, Jason…thanks for putting up with me for this long. I can’t wait to be nagging you for the next 40 or so years!

The Big Reunions

So sorry it’s taken me this long to post about the Auburn meetup and seeing Liz for the first time in 11 years. It’s been crazy with Henry out of school for his fall break (3 weeks). It gets really wild around the house.

A few weeks ago, a bunch of old sorority sisters got together in Auburn for the AU/LSU game. Unfortunately the game wasn’t as exciting as seeing everyone for the first time in like a decade. It was great. Thanks to Leslie and the AU locals for hosting brunch. It was really really great seeing everyone again. Most of us have kiddos the same basic age. That’s fun. The kids weren’t there (thank goodness) but they were pretty much the topic of conversation.
I had picked up my roommate from college at the Atlanta airport and we drove to Auburn and stayed with a friend of hers. We had tickets to the game which was great and tailgated most of the time with our neighbors from college, Jonathan & Christian. That was a blast catching up with them!
Here are a few pics of the day.

This past Monday, Henry and I drove to Commerce to see my first roommate from Auburn Liz. She & her husband live in Maryland and I haven’t seen her in literally 11 years. Why? We really don’t know. It’s terrible, but that’s life I guess…
It was so much fun. She looks exactly the same. Her daughter Blakely and Henry are 2 months apart and after a rocky start to their meeting, they were fast friends…we actually caught them holding hands! How cute is that? She has a new baby, Mackenzie, who is absolutely precious. I just can’t believe that it’s been so long since we’ve seen each other.
Here are a few pics from our visit with Liz:
Once they finally decided they kinda liked each other!

I swear, this is NOT POSED. They did this on their own.

This was their way of getting away from us, trying to bide time before we left. They didn’t want to part from each other.

I really feel like 2008 has been a year for reuniting for me. It’s been amazing and I can’t wait to reunite with lots more in 2009!

I have officially seen it all

I must share this with y’all right now. I promise I will post about my trip to Auburn, Henry’s 3 week break and my 10th anniversary trip to the Ritz Carlton!

We are at Lake Oconee on the said trip to the Ritz and went shopping yesterday. We went to the most adorable gift shop ever. They had marvelous stuff. Purses to die for, leather mongrammed coasters…hey, did I say monogrammed???
That brings me to this particular post.
So we in the South love to mark our territory by monogramming it. We birth our babies and have to know their names before they arrive so they can leave the hospital in monogrammed attire. Just in case someone mistakes them for someone else on the way home. We monogram our purses, our wallets, hell…we even monogram our CARS now. You read that right…you can buy a monogram sticker for your CAR now. Oh, Lord. What has happened?
Back to the story. We’re in this adorable store. I find a zillion things I would love to have. And then…and then…and then…MONOGRAMMED HAND SANITIZER. What the *%^$? A bottle of hand sanitizer with a beautiful monogram on it. Wrapped in cute polka dot shrink wrap with a twirly ribbon. Oh my gosh. We have really taken this one step too far. I’m a little shocked usually by the monogrammed lotions and other things but seriously…hand sanitizer. Does that mean that if you’re visiting my house and don’t have that initial you can’t use my hand sanitizer. Because it has MY monogram and therefore it’s claimed BY ME. AS MINE.
I’ve seriously seen it all now. I guess a monogrammed tube of toothpaste would be next, right?
