#FineChinaFriday 3/16/12

Happy Friday! It’s time to break out the good stuff again for this week’s #FineChinaFriday!

Like I mentioned last week, I was in Greensboro, NC visiting my mother-in-law. Casually, I said I may go over to Replacements for a tour. I was able to sneak out and drive over. Best. Thing. Ever.

I was the only person on the tour at that particular time. I got a perfectly private tour of this GIANT facility. It was amazing. I was actually rendered speechless.

If you’re not familiar with Replacements, here’s what they say on their website:

Replacements, Ltd. (located in Greensboro, NC) has the world’s largest selection of old & new dinnerware, including china, stonewarecrystalglasswaresilverstainless, and collectibles. Our 500,000-square-foot facilities (the size of 8 football fields!) house an incredible inventory of 13 million pieces in more than 360,000 patterns, some over 100 years old! We add thousands of items to our site each day, so click on the categories above that match your interest, and spend some time with us online!

They offer help with identification of patterns, specials, baby items, and a way you can register your patterns to be notified of inventory changes.

But the very best thing happened. After the tour, the tour guide and I were in the museum area and we had been talking about #FineChinaFriday during the tour. She said, “Hang on, let me go see if our PR Manager is here right now. So for about the next 30 minutes, I met with Lisa Conklin, the PR Manager at Replacements and discussed #FineChinaFriday.

Hopefully I can talk with them some more about ways we could work together to make #FineChinaFriday even more successful!

So with that said, here are a few pictures from last week. I dined on movie popcorn Friday night so I wasn’t able to participate. But tonight, my bourbon will be in a Lincoln teacup, ala Angie at Phickles Pickles!

Remember, I want to know about it!

  1. Yay me! I finally penned one. Now I need to force you to make a linky thingy. I’ve grown rather fond of those. *grin*

I love the idea of going to a warehouse like Replacements. Can you convince them to run a rigged contest for people from the provinces who need to replace pieces that they so carelessly broke during endless renovations?

Also, they have a set I totally covet, I only have two tea cups, two saucers and two dessert plates.

Sigh. I’ll write about these things eventually.

Just joking about the contest rigging. Kind of. Not really. Okay really. But still …
