I’ve been having on and off insecurity issues since I started working. I’ve needed to remind myself that I AM ME. I am who I am. And that’s good enough.
Sometimes we ALL need to remind ourselves of the good (or not so good) qualities we possess.
So today’s (optional) prompt is I AM ________.
Remember, you are MORE THAN WELCOME to just free write. I urge you to do that if the prompt doesn’t jump out at you!
Your five minutes starts now.
I am Jana.
I’m a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister. An aunt, a daughter-in-law.
I’m eternally optimistic. I hold my pessimism inside.
I love to help those who want help. But I feel selfish saying it, but I like for others to offer to help ME.
I am much smarter than I was when I was 22. Life really DOES make you wiser.
I’m just like my mother, yet nothing like my mother. Same can be said about my sister.
I’m not a dog person. They’re cute and all, but I could live without ever having another.
I’m not a runner, but I play one every other day.
I am loyal and I am loving. I am strong and I am fierce.
I am a thinker and a planner and a follower. I can be a leader, but I’d rather follow.
I’m a reader and a writer.

Time’s up!
That was hard. But I could have gone on longer. I felt like saying all the negative things I am, but tried to turn them to positives. You can do it!

This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…
- Set a timer and write for 5 minutes.
- Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. No proofreading or spellchecking. This is writing in the raw.
- Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
- Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post (in the sidebar). .
- Link up your post below.
- Visit your fellow bloggers and show some love.

I love reading your “I am’s” Jana. I feel closer to you knowing these things about you. I am thinking this would be a great way to give introductions in a group. One minute each on I AM starting with I AM whatever the name happens to be…. awesome. THANK YOU!

Hello, Jana.
This is my first time at SOC Sunday, since all.things.fadra – so, it’s been a good long while. I can’t wait to read more of your posts and share some of mine, as well.

LOL to “They’re cute and all”. I don’t have one. I’d just like to babysit every a sweet one every now and then. Thanks for today’s post. You pulled something out and I feel better – I didn’t want to play

I am ALSO exactly like my mother, yet nothing like my mother. Isn’t it funny how that works? This was a great prompt today!! I’m glad I’m getting back into SOCS every week.
Also…I think I did the prompt wrong! ha!

No such thing! It can be done however you take it!
Oh no. Jana. You’re in my head girl. I came over to check the prompt before posting. So I could see if this worked. And after a crying jag yesterday about myself this might be perfect. I think I have to take some time and maybe get through my day first, but I’ll be back. And I’ll read your post then, too. I just wasn’t ready yet. xo

Oh, I’m sorry you had tears
Get through your day and then come back. Or not. Just remember, you ARE strong. you ARE amazing. and you ARE enough.
Thanks, Jana. I read your post. I love it. I’m going to write mine now.

Your granddaddy had a saying he used with me & Aunt Diane…and I’ve always tried to use with you & your sister…..”Be yourself”……….and that is all anyone else should EVER ask of you. ALSO…God isn’t done with me yet so why should you think He is done with you? We are all Works in Progress and “God don’t make no junk!” Make time for yourself & find some solid ground to attach your roots to; then trust yourself. Love & kisses, Mama PCH
It’s funny…lots of those could apply to me. Especially the thinker…and follower. Because I am so horribly unorganized. And I feel that way about running these days. My body feels it’s age with the running. But I get out there a few times a week and pretend.

You run every other day, but don’t think you are a runner. You are a runner in my opinion – just being optimistic, I guess.

I write all the time and don’t consider myself a real writer either. Funny, huh?
Jana, you are awesome and I love you!
That was my first SOC Sunday. It was interesting and I may try another one. I even got some nice comments from others. Jana you just kick butt!

I just had to come back – after spending some time reading the contributions to this prompt.
Absolutely incredible, Jana. You seem to have chosen a concept which resonates with so many of us. I am honored to have contributed. And humbled by so many of the posts.
