Stream of Consciousness Sunday: A week of Mondays. Again.

This has been a crazy week. I don’t know about for y’all, but it’s been full of Mondays for me.

Surely you learned something, though. Right?

Today’s (totally optional) prompt: What I learned this week.

stream of consciousness sunday

This week was full of Mondays. In fact, I’m actually looking forward to this Monday so I can start over with a real week.

Jason traveled this week and Monday started with driving the 35 miles to work, getting a call at about 1pm that our alarm was going off, driving home 35 miles, checking on the alarm, WALKING THROUGH THE HOUSE WITH A HOE IN MY HAND (like that was going to hurt somebody), and then driving back to work 35 miles. And then home again.

That night, I called the Dunwoody PD and asked if an officer could walk through the house before Henry and I came in and spent the night. They obliged with no questions asked. The officers were great and I was able to sleep that night.

Thursday, I came home to a CHIPMUNK in my house. Yes, people. A chipmunk was in my house. We got it out, but I gotta tell you. They may be cute on TV, but they’re NOT cute when they’re in your house. And then I had a strange anxiety dream about running a half marathon in Ohhhhhhh, 33 days. (What am I thinking?)

Saturday, after work, we drove to the fair. Oh, how I love the fair. There’s nothing strange or “Monday-like” about the fair, but I thought y’all might want to know that.

Was your week crazy? Was it all Mondays?

  2. Oh, I know weeks of Mondays. Lately it is my Tuesdays that are my Mondays. Mondays are like a super holiday when I can get done exactly what I want to get done without catering completely to the rest of the world’s whims. It is sort of like a pleasant, self-care Monday-is-the-best-day-of-the-week day.

Now that I’ve made your reflection of last week even worse… please accept my apologies. I’m so glad to have written with you at SOCSunday the past few weeks!

Next week WILL be better for you!!

  3. Bless your heart about that alarm. Having to race home. And good to know the police will help out when we freak out. Love them. And btw. I agree. Chipmunks and mice are adorable — OUTSIDE. Inside they need to be destroyed. Hope this week is great for you.

  4. Thursdays are my Mondays. I hate Thursdays. Your police story makes me feel good. I had a police interaction that was not so polite but it helps o know that not all of them are tools.

  5. I hate Mondays and tomorrow I have to spend part of it at the unemployment office trying to work something out (and tomorrow is my birthday. So the unemployment office ON a Monday that happens to be my birthday? Not cool, universe.)
