Well, here we are.
You may only see three of us when you look at this family photo:
But there are four.
The tall male figure is Jason. He’s our breadwinner. He works in Public Relations, specifically in Employee Engagement and Internal Communications – whatever that means, he just brings home the bacon! What? He looks older than me? Yes, he is. He’s 9 years older than I am. Which is just about perfect! Plus, we save a lot of money on haircuts by him being pretty bald. He’s a fun guy – loves his Georgia Bulldogs, boiled peanuts, his iPhone and Jana’s Famous Dirty Vodka Martinis.
The female figure is me. Surprise! I’m the breadBAKER in the family. Aw, hell. You caught me. I’m the bread BUYER in the family. I don’t bake bread unless you count muffins as bread. I’m simply the Mom. I do whatever needs to be done. I don’t have to list all that mundane crap here, do I? I have laundry to fold and floors to vacuum.
Then there’s the short guy. That’s our magnificent Henry. The best thing EVER. He’s a little slice of deliciousness if you can’t tell by this picture:
He is so fabulously funny. He cracks us up on a daily basis. Normally MANY times a day, actually! Henry is sweet, wild, boisterous, caring, charming, rambunctious, cuddly, rough, wise, childish… really there are no words to explain Henry. You’ll just have to follow along with my blog to get the true feeling of how special he is!
I can’t leave out our forever angel, Charlie. Our first son was born in May of 2003. He lived for 24 days before he gained his wings. He contracted an infection called Group B Strep. I’ll probably talk a lot about Charlie and Group B Strep. You can read his whole story under the “charlie’s story” tab above. The colors on my blog are reminders of him. That color blue will be forever known in our circle of family and friends as “Charlie Blue.”
